Present Day Customer Satisfaction

Where have all the caring people gone???  The lack of concern for the satisfaction of the customer amazes me on a daily basis.  From pumping gas to dealing with cell phone companies, to the larger utility type corporations, it all boils down to the customer feeling like they are over a barrel.  There is absolutely nothing worse than to have to write a check for services to a company that you feel “bullied” by.

What is customer satisfaction?  When you are paying for or screening for the purchase of a product or service, how important is it for you to feel that you are the one important factor in the providers plan to earn and keep your business?  There are many businesses out there that have that front person.  The one who says everything it takes to make you feel that way at the start however, the true key in customer service is to KEEP that feeling throughout the business relationship.  I personally see that as lacking in today’s business world.

I am interested to hear what it is that people find important to create their level of “customer satisfaction” when finding and dealing with businesses.  What do you feel are key factors that build a satisfying customer/business relationship?

A list for businesses that I believe is crucial starts like this:

1 – LISTEN to your customer, I mean truly listen.

2 – Honesty, honesty, honesty – be willing to take on what you can and to give away what you cannot.

3 – Commitment and dedication to your customer’s goals

Feel free to add on to the list…

Until next week
